Abiquiu Talks

Abiquiu Talks has been producing lectures in Abiquiu since 2015. From paleontology talks to history, culture and art, we enjoyed the comradery of the live lectures. In 2020, during the COVID pandemic we produced a series of 12 scholar lectures through a generous grant from the New Mexico Humanities Council. Those lectures were made available to the community via online technology – namely Zoom. Over the remaining years of the pandemic we haven’t produced Abiquiu Talks because people were concerned about gathering in a room sitting elbow to elbow. And frankly, so were we. From our online productions with the Humanities Council we realized we could reach many more people than we can in person – and feel good doing it by helping to keep down the spread of illness.

Our intention is to prepare prerecorded lectures, talks, demonstrations and produce some live ones online too. We’ll see how it goes. Stay tuned and thank you, friends, for your support over the years.
