Wabi Collection
Taken from the Japanese philosophy of wabi sabi, a world view centered on the acceptance of transience and imperfection. A collection of irregular pieces in 5 different shapes, with a combination of hand painted and layered glazes. The series explores the beauty of nature’s imperfections through its variations, and the concept of the seasons as they change with each passing day; the seasons are not static entities, but constantly evolving throughout time in response to changes in climate, weather and our own actions in the landscape that we live in and around everyday. The series looks at how time is an important part of life and how the passage of time can be seen in things both natural and man made such as rocks, flowers, buildings etc.
